Wednesday Kalapana Night Market

UPDATE: Due to COVID restrictions the Night Market is not running at the moment.

If it is Wednesday Night, the Kalapana Night Market is the place to be! Locals and tourists alike head to there to enjoy the atmosphere, food and live music which takes place every Wednesday (5:00pm – 9:00 pm).

Black Sand

Before you head to the night market from the parking lot, walk towards the coastline and in 10 minutes, you will reach the shore with black sand. As you walk closer and closer towards the coastline, you will hear the loud sound of the waves.

Live Music!

Live music is the main attraction at this night market that gives the Aloha atmosphere an electric vibe. The Kalapana ‘Awa Band entertains the evening starting with traditional Hawaiian mele (songs) and by the end of the night, the band kicks it up a notch playing from local reggae, country, and oldies. You name it they can play it. Get on up to the dance floor and enjoy the moment!

Great Food!

With many local food vendors, everyone in your group will find something they enjoy eating. This ranges from fresh, hot, pizza to healthy organic meals, local plate lunch style dishes like “Hawaiian Nachos” and everything in between. No worries, you will find all kinds of delicious local food here!

You can also stop by Uncle’s Awa Bar to try the Polynesian drink called Kava (‘Awa in Hawaii). Kava is sedating and is primarily consumed to relax without disrupting mental clarity. Uncles ‘Awa Bar also offers tropical cold beverages. Enjoy the atmosphere of Kaimū, Kalapana and socialize with locals and other visitors!

Fireshow

If you’re lucky, you might get to see a one-man fire show.
