Archeologist to Discuss Wooden Images at Pu‘uhonua o Hōnaunau NHP – July 12th

Pu‘uhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park will host an evening program—”Nā Kiʻi Lāʻau, The Gods and Guardians at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park”—in the park’s amphitheater on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, from 5 to  6:30 p.m.

Archeologist Kalena Blakemore will share her research on kiʻi lāʻau (wooden images) at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau.

Blakemore earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo. She then went on to complete her master’s degree in heritage management this year.
